Here's a little bit about us . . .
We live in Huntsville, Texas, which is a small town about an hour north of Houston. Huntsville is a quaint little community with a population of 35,000 or so, depending on whether or not you count the thousands of prisoners who also reside here. Huntsville is the home of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, along with more than a half dozen prisons. It is also the home of Sam Houston State University, as well as the final resting place of former Texas governor General Sam Houston. It’s a place where you can still see a first run movie on a Friday night for only five dollars. Most importantly, it has been home for Debbie’s family for nearly three decades, and it has been our home for the past five years. It’s definitely a good place to raise a family.
We met while in graduate school and were married in December of 1991. We share a number of things in common: A strong love of family, a devout faith, and enjoyment of simple things. We like to travel, and have been fortunate to visit a number of places in the United States, as well as a few international vacations. We have three miniature schnauzers and a three year old daughter, Samantha. (You’ll notice that the majority of our photos are of Sam)!
Jeff was born in Florida and grew up in Tennessee. Debbie is a native Texan; born and raised in the Lone Star State. Samantha was born in China, and adopted into our family in June of 2004. Our three Schnauzers were born in Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas. Not quite the “Brady Bunch,” but a nice family of three people and three little dogs!
